Homemade street food with crab

Homemade street food with crab

Street food is a global food trend that has become hugely popular in recent years, in Norway too. Tasty, healthy, quick dishes are being sold more and more, and many of them can be made with crab.

The concept of "street food" has no clear definition, but it is usually described as something you buy from a vendor on the street and can eat straight away. Precisely because you cannot pick out ingredients and compose the taste experience the way you would from a platter, every "mouthful" has to contain any meat, sauce and other accompaniments, and be a complete taste experience that serves up all the ingredients at once.

Crab has both the flavour and the texture to work very well in street food. So here we have gathered recipes for a few street food dishes with crab that you could happily have bought on the street, but that you can just as easily enjoy at home in your own kitchen.

Steamed bun with crab and curry mayonnaise

Steamed buns, a light and airy steamed bread, work brilliantly as a "container" for good ingredients, and crab is no exception. Crab and curry make for some lovely mouthfuls, and they are quick and easy to eat. Works as a starter and as a main course, or simply as comfort food.
